  • Advert Text Based in the stunning setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – a World Heritage Site – The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement.
    The King’s School require a part time (20 hours per week/40 weeks of the year), Support Design and Technology Technician to provide technical support to teaching staff and classes in the design and technology areas, as well as tackle a range of routine duties, within the department.
    Reporting to the Head of Design and Technology, the applicant must be prepared to adopt a flexible approach to working, in order to tackle a range of duties in the design and technology department. The Support Design and Technology Technician will support the Design and Technology Technician in carrying out responsibilities, which include but are not limited to: 
    Preparing materials, resources and equipment for daily use and preparing materials for long term projects.
    Demonstrating to pupils, and supervising pupils undertaking, hazardous or difficult practical procedures as/when required.
    Ensuring DT rooms are kept clean and tidy.
    Carrying out routine safety checks and maintenance of workshop equipment, machine and hand tools.
    Providing technical advice and help to staff and students.
